Chapter 1: Check-In day

Welcome to JHU-CTY LA campus. Before you check in to our program, there are several things you need to know about it.

1.Check in begins at 10 AM on July 13th and ends at 2 PM that day. Students should arrive before this time. Those who aren’t able to make it should contact the Main Office before they arrive. They will be escorted inside by a staff member. 

2.If you are late, be sure to follow a staff member wearing a dark green uniform. DO NOT FOLLOW ANYONE ELSE! 

3.Check in will be among the dorms, outside DRS, where the main office is. For those who are late, check in at the Main office. DO NOT TRUST THOSE WHO TELL YOU TO CHECK IN AT ANYWHERE ELSE!

4.You will be able to get a map of the campus, your room card and your uniform(dark green)at check-in. 

5.After checking-in, your RAs will take you to the bookstore to claim your books. Be sure to tell the staff there your name correctly and don’t help someone else obtain their book.

6.You can also buy the materials required for the course and living supplies at the bookstore. You are expected to pay in US Dollars, by cash or by your room card.

7.Outside the bookstore there is an ATM machine. You can charge your room cards there. The money inside can be used for buying things on campus (Note:all the stores on campus accept room cards.), using the washing and drying machines and gaining access to your room. If you lose your card by accident, report to the main office immediately.

8.Everyone will be given a tour around the campus. Please do not wander off in some direction without a staff member.

9.That evening, you will be able to see your instructors. You will be able to meet them officially the next day.

10.During hall meetings, your RAs will arrange your after-class activities. If you’re able to, do not take part in any outdoor activities when the sun sets.

The rest will be arranged by your RAs at hall meetings.
