Chapter1 Functions, graphs and lines
1.1 Functions
A function is the rule which we turn one thing into the other. And the thing we put into this function is called the input and the thing we get after hitting it with the rule is called the output.
The inputs are all from the collection which we call it domain and the outputs are all from the collection which we call it codomain. The collection of all the outputs is called range.
We define that in a function, there’s only one output if you hit one input with the rule. If not, it’s not a function. The process of checking this is called: vertical line check.
